Quick Notes

  • We can replace all sizes of halogen downlights from small 50mm to the common 90mm cut out, all the way up to 240mm
  • The price of installation may vary depending on a few factors. For example, ceiling accessibility, the size of the new lights and if  any plug bases need to be installed because we do not hard wire any down lights. LED lights last 10x longer than halogens but all new lights will be installed with plug bases allowing easy DIY replacement saving electrician fees in the future.
  • We remove the entire old light fitting and replace with all new equipment nothing is kept except your existing wiring.
  • Drop sheets are used during the installation along with white protective gloves to prevent any finger marks on the ceiling. All rubbish will be removed by LED Solutions and the working areas vacuumed after the completed installation.
  • The rough prices below are to replace common 90mm downlights, larger sized lights costs will be different.

Standard Installation

With this option we remove the old light and all components then replace it with a complete new LED light fitting. This type of replacement solves a lot of the common problems caused by old halogen style downlights.

Due to the large amount of poorly made LED products we choose to only use lighting manufactures that are members of The Lighting Council of Australia. They have strict requirements LED manufactures must meet and this helps keep the quality of the lights high.  

For this priced LED light package we light to use two main lights, one from OSRAM and the other from MELEC.

  • For the lower wattage installations we use OSRAM LEDCOMFO DL 5W 2700K for clients who like a more subtle light, equilivent to a 25W halogen downlight.
  • For the brighter replacement we like to use MELEC MR10 – 10WLED downlight kit. This light is equivalent to a 50W downlight.

  • Sealed unit that prevents dust, insects and heat loss through the ceiling.
  • Large beam angle from 90 to 120 degrees.

Premium Eco Package

Premium Installation

The last option is for people looking the bees knees of LED downlights. These lights come in funky colours and styles to suit all looks. Some have the ability to choose between different colour temperatures all in one light, warm white, cool white and daylight. They tend to be expensive and prices vary depending on the style you choose. These models can be ordered square and with the ability to order different colour trims.  If you are looking for something more affordable I would recommend the options above as these are more for architectural installations.

For this priced LED light package we like to use SAL,  Bright Green and the other from MELEC.

The lights vary in style and it really depends on the look you are after to what light will best meet your needs. If you don’t want round lights then a square style might be what you are after.

  • Easily dimmed architectural design and certain models can be covered by insulation.
  • Long light warranty up to 7 years,  also part of the reason why these lights are so expensive. You do get what you pay for but the high end lights are pricey.
